Join the SAR!

The purpose of the Sons of the American Revolution is "to perpetuate the memory of those who, by their services or sacrifices during the war of the American Revolution, achieved the independence of the American People."

Our membership is open to any male adult (21 years of age) of good character who is the lineal descendant of a Revolutionary War soldier or Patriot. (The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the National Society of the Children of the American Revolution offer similar membership to women and children.)

This includes those persons who fought in the military and / or militia, who provided supplies to the American cause, who served in independent governments, who signed oaths of Faith and Fidelity and similar acts.

The links below will direct you to websites that will help you become a member. Also, be sure to use the member helper contact for your state. You should also make contact with the SAR Chapter nearest to where you live. There are lots of folks who are willing to help.

You may contact our Chapter Registrar by using the Contact Us page.
